So you’ve made the decision to finally get started with your fitness regime, but your probably sat thinking, ‘where do i start’?

We’ve put together a few of the main points.

  • Exercise daily, aim for at least one hour. It does not have to be hard workouts, but should have some sort of moderate activity in your everyday life. However, if you are looking to shed a few pounds fast, do a higher-level intensity workout. For example, a brisk walk for an hour, or maybe intermittent walk and then jog. Please remember, it is normal to have aching muscles after doing a high intensity workout, it may be uncomfortable, but this means your body is changing for the better, and that what you are doing is working the correct way. Make sure you stay hydrated, make sure you stretch properly, and eat foods with a decent amount of protein after each workout as protein will help keep your muscles, not fat, rebuilding.
  • Eat the right foods and watch your portion size. Try to stay away from sweets. Fruit and veg is the best way to get in shape. Also stick to lean meats like turkey and chicken. These are full of protein and healthy nutrients to help keep muscles fit and ready for workouts. Try to plan out eating six times per day and setting smaller portions, rather than having three large meals throughout the day. Track your calories and workout how many you consume in a day.
  • Be sure to get some sleep. Even though most of us have eight-hour jobs during the day or night, it is crucial to get enough sleep to recharge the body. Six to eight hours sleep will keep the body going. You should only nap for about half hour if you do need a nap.
  • Stay motivated. One of the important things to being in shape is to set goals and keep a positive mindset. This way you will be able to push yourself to get to where you want to be.
