Top excuses:

I DON’T HAVE TIME….

If you find yourself in this situation, think about what you can change. How much television do you watch? Can you watch it later? Or can you exercise when you watch it? Whilst watching your favourite shows you could use your resistance bands for strength training, do a mini circuit with your dumbells, or walk in place. Or use the ads and set yourself challenges. Remember you could break your sessions into shorter times, some activity is better than none…

I’M TOO TIRED…

Always remember, working out actually gives you more energy. Your body releases endorphins when you train. It can be best to train in the mornings before you start your day so that you don’t feel like your over tired. Make it part of your daily routine or weekly routine and it will will soon just become a natural part of your life…like getting up cleaning your teeth.

I DON’T GET A BREAK FROM THE KIDS!

Get the kids involved. If you can’t make the gym, take them to the park, get them jogging with you, play ball, go out on your bikes, have family fun runs at the weekends, or if the weather is bad, find a youtube exercise video you all follow and do together. Remember, as you all et fitter you’ll all have more energy and the whole family will benefit.

EXERCISE IS BORING…

There are lots of different things you can do to keep fit and healthy. You have to find an activity that you love, this can include gardening, joining a dance class, walking, climbing centres, aerobic classes, swimming and more. There is an exercise for everyone, it’s a matter of trying them out and seeing what you enjoy most. Get a friend to come with you or partner, and try to mix it up a little so as it doesn’t become boring.

SHARE WHAT YOU DO ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA….

Why not set up a page on your facebook account or create an instagram account where each day you tell you friends on there what you have done i,e, “i just completed at 30min run” or “today i attended a yoga class” write why you enjoyed it, what you feel you gained from it. As people start to comment and say well done, the more motivated you will become, and so the more things you will try.

Getting started is the hardest part, but once you get going you will start to think why did you not do it sooner.

Good luck
